Aodh Mag Uidhir
_______________________________________
He was the finest horseman in Ireland
and commanded the cavalry in the last days of
the sixteenth century.
Tall, fun-loving and brave, he was the first
into the Nine Years War.
He summed up the situation in the north
and said that he and his must be regarded
"as hungry and rapacious wolves."
Related to O'Donnell and O'Neill,
the three Hugh's formed an unbroken alliance that
brought the whole British Army to a standstill.
