Comments: I enjoyed very much your site on Hugh Maguire. My 9th generation grandfather, Brian Maguire of Tempo, was one of two brothers of Hugh II. The book "The Fermanagh Story" by Peader Livingstone, published in Belfast in 1969 shows my two brothers and I as the last living members of the Junior, or Tempo, line of Maguire's. We have added to that since, with my two sons and one grandson. I plan to return and spend some additional time going through your beautiful site. God bless.
Name: Robert Charles Maguire
Response: I am honored. It is such a pleasure to hear from people who are proud descendants of the Irish chieftains (even when some disagree with my art depictions). For those who care, I do all the research available, to learn how they might have looked. I always use models who are Irish, or of Irish descent. I go wrong, I suppose, in the clothing. That is more to do with my love of faces and little patience to dwell on clothing details. I'll try to change that in future work.

Thank you. I do love history, stories and music. Especially Irish history, stories and music. It is a blessing indeed. Happy Samhain.

Comments: This is a brilliant site. I myself tell many stories from Ireland's famous storyteller and actor Eamonn Kelly. I found the site most informative and interesting. I would like to develop my interest in Irish folklore and this guide allows me to explore the early history of this ancient but still captivating art. I know for instance America is going back very much to theatre and storytelling. I would love some more information on events or schedules that are happening in Ireland or the rest of Europe in this field.
Name: Tim Evens
Response: It would be a worthwhile project, I believe, to have a gathering of some kind. Maybe it is something that can be done in the near future. Maybe here on the site. Any ideas?

Comments: Wonderful, wonderful website and so well presented. I am just about 79 yrs old, of Irish parents who instilled in me a love of all things Irish, and I truly appreciate all your efforts. I have been spending countless hours with my PC and all the beautiful websites to Ireland. Many thanks!!

Comments: I am Clan Chief of the Clan O'Lorcain. Unbroken descent of the O'Lorcain (Larkin, Lorcan, etc.) as well as the Clan Hogan through one of Brian Boru's uncles. Brian's father was kinsmen of the O'Lorcain Clan (septs). I invite you to visit our websites at:

Through these pages you can link to all of our pages.

Comments: I am amazed that there is a lite hearted site, that might even open up a sense of culture in our children--GREAT SITE! I would like to know if you have anything on Cinneide. Either father or nephew of Brian Mac Kennedy (BORU).
Name: Clayton
Response: Brian was son of the chieftain Cinneide (helmet head). The Kennedy clan descends from Dunchaun, brother or nephew (I'm not certain which was considered the original bearer of the name) of Brian Boru. I don't have much about him except for the words of the poet, "The race of our Dunchain who through valour, obtained the land without dispute."
Click on the link to the O'Brian genealogy sites and you might find more. Thanks for stopping in and the encouraging comments.--Dove.

Comments: Scota was one of the daughters of the last King of the Israelites Sedekiah. The stories of the ancient origins of the Irish were rewritten in the 12th and 13th centuries to fit the Roman lie that the Israelites had been replaced as YaHWeH (Gods) people by the church of Rome. The Tuatha na Dannan were the Tribe of Dan of Israel. They went directly across Europe after their release from Assyrian captivity around 700BC eventually to Ireland. They brought the spear of Finias with them, the spear Phineas in the Bible slew the race mixers with staying the plague on Israel. The Milesians were the last Israelites to get to Ireland, they were known as Sythians and the Scoloti by the Greeks and Romans.
Some of the Scoloti went from Ireland to what became Scotland. In the Declaration of Arbroath 1320 otherwise known as the Scottish Declaration of Independence it is stated that the Scots are Israel and journeyed through the barbarous natives of Spain to Scotland. Incidentally they were called Scoloti after a King of theirs. The Hebrew believed they went to SHEOL after death, the Celts believed they went to SHEOL, too, modern Irish spelling seal. the Royal Blue and Saffron are the colours of the Royal County of Meath, home of the Seat of the Kings of Ireland TARA. They are the Royal Colours of the House of David, too, as in the blue and yellow Star of David. the Harp, as in King David's is the National Emblem of Ireland.

Comments: My grandfather is Red Hugh. Granted, great, great.....grandfather. Nonetheless, I wonder what has become of the O'Donnell Castle? Does the state have ownership? I am so pleased to find this site. Thank you again, for this site, especially the O'Donnell pages.
Name: Julia
Response: I visited Donegal (the O'Donnell) castle in March. The photos were taken by me. People are free to wander through on their own, or take a tour. You can see Red Hugh's signature on a document enclosed behind a glass. It was thrilling. Thank you for your comments. And, if you go, the Castle Restaurant across the street is not to be missed!

Comments: Interesting content. Very artistic. However, I could do without the music.
Name: Derek
Response: The music is an integral part of the site as it is in the life of the Irish. If it were removed the pleasure for most visitors would be diminished. I, personally, would feel a loss. All the same, I hope you will visit again and turn your sound button down or off.

Comments: Thanks for your most intriguing site! As with most treasures I find, it was quite by accident that I found this one. Perhaps you or some of your "readers" being of a "literary bent" can answer a question for me. I have searched the net in vain for information on the Irish poet David O'Bruadair. Where can I find his works?
